Support the supplied structure\u2014not a generic rectangle<\/h2>\n<p>Barrel and pod shells often sit on shaped cradles or bearers. Cabins may use a perimeter or joist frame. The number and spacing are model-specific; do not copy the common claim that every two-metre barrel needs three supports. A missed bearer can distort doors and panels even when the slab itself is strong.<\/p>\n<p>Check level across the support lines and diagonals before assembly. Do not correct a badly built base with stacks of loose timber or compressible packing. Document the finished dimensions and levels before the sauna arrives.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Keep weather outside and allow the assembly to dry<\/h2>\n<p>Roof covering, flashings, edges, penetrations and drip details must work as a system. Leave access to inspect the chimney or cable entry. At the base, provide drainage and airflow without creating a route for wind-driven rain into the floor. Harvia specifies different inlet and outlet locations for wood-burning heaters, mechanically ventilated electric saunas and gravity-ventilated electric saunas. Supply air must not cool a separate temperature sensor. The selected heater manual decides vent size, position and sensor clearance.<\/p>\n<p>Plan an after-use drying route as well as fresh air during bathing. Benches and removable floor grates should allow access for cleaning and inspection. A drain handles liquid water; it does not replace ventilation.<\/p>\n<h2>7. Heater, flue and electrical work are specialist interfaces<\/h2>\n<p>A wood stove needs the exact safety distances, protective surfaces, stone load and flue specified by the manufacturer. A compatible flue must discharge safely and remain inspectable. An electric heater needs a designed supply, controls, sensor and protective measures installed and tested by a competent electrician.
