Product Description
Sand filtration: remove particles and establish a water-care routine
A hot tub that keeps its water between sessions needs circulation and filtration. This system passes water through sand media to trap suspended particles. It does not replace water balancing or disinfection, but it reduces visible contamination and makes maintenance more predictable.
| Documented detail | Value | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Stated flow | 2,000–4,000 litres/hour | Compare with tub volume and circuit losses |
| Electrical supply | 220–240 V AC | A protected connection suitable for the wet environment |
| Valve | Six ways / six modes | Filtration, backwashing and maintenance operations |
| Supplied hose | 1,500 mm, Ø32 mm, transparent and heat-resistant | Visible connection between components |
| Stainless-steel connections | 2 × 250 mm, Ø33 mm, two couplers and two clamps | A coordinated connection set |
What is supplied?
The package includes the sand-filter vessel and six-way valve, circulation pump, hose, two stainless-steel connections, two couplers, two clamps, two two-position valves and a wooden box. Sand is not included. A UV filter is also not included: it is a separate accessory installed in line with the sand filtration.
The exact pump model may vary with stock. Confirm the reference, flow and supplied instructions in the quotation.
Size the circulation for the actual tub
Actual flow falls as hose length, bends, height differences and media loading increase. Base the filtration duration on the actual water volume and required turnover. A large or heavily used tub needs a different routine from a small tub emptied frequently.
The valves allow equipment isolation and filter cleaning. The wooden enclosure screens the equipment and must remain ventilated, able to drain and accessible for maintenance.
Water quality and winter preparation
Mechanical filtration works alongside water-parameter checks, compatible disinfection and water replacement. When the optional UV filter is fitted, the documented routine calls for it to run with the sand filter for at least three to four hours a day; determine the full daily schedule for the actual tub and use. UV does not replace mechanical filtration. Clean the filter according to pressure and its instructions.
If freezing is possible, remove the filter, drain the water inside and store it under cover. The circulation pump and other vulnerable circuit components also need to be dismantled and drained.
Why choose this system?
This package suits owners who want to retain water for several sessions, remove particles and use a multi-function valve for maintenance. It is particularly useful with a cover and a written water-care routine.
Before ordering, confirm tub volume, required filter media, enclosure position, electrical supply and exact connections.
Compare flow with your tub volume
The stated 2,000–4,000 litres/hour is a starting point. Media, hoses and bends reduce the working flow, so confirm the actual volume and intended installation when setting the daily run time.
Filtration is especially useful when water stays in the tub across several sessions. For a tub emptied after every use, weigh the benefit against enclosure space, electricity, media cleaning and winter preparation.
