Electric Wooden Hot Tub for Garden Use – TimberIN Nordic Family™ Electric

From: £2,903

Electric Wooden Hot Tub for Garden Use – TimberIN Nordic Family™ Electric. Created for households that value planned, repeatable heating, this family hot tub can be configured around electric support, a Wi-Fi heat pump or a combined wood-and-electric system. Classic and modern shell forms give the installation a different visual and seating character, while the timber exterior preserves the warmth of a wooden garden product. The final heater choice must be matched to the property’s electrical capacity and intended year-round routine. Three documented shells are selectable: a 1,800 mm straight-wall Classic (6–8 bathers, about 1,650–1,750 litres), a 1,800 mm conical model (6–8, about 1,400–1,500 litres) and a 2,000 mm conical model (8–12, about 1,550 litres). Heating choices include 6 kW electric, 5 kW Wi-Fi heat pump and electric/wood hybrids, with extensive cover, cladding, massage, filtration and control options.

Product Description

Controlled heat for regular family use · Made-to-order outdoor hot tub

Electric Wooden Hot Tub for Garden Use – TimberIN Nordic Family™ Electric: electric and heat-pump options in a timber-clad family tub

A wooden hot-tub look with a more predictable heating routine

The attraction of this model is the separation between its timber exterior and its modern temperature-control choices. An all-electric or heat-pump-led setup suits owners who want scheduled use without lighting a fire for every bathing session. A combined wood-and-electric arrangement offers another rhythm: wood can provide the main heat while electric support helps with holding temperature or frost management, subject to the confirmed system. Shell form is not merely cosmetic; classic and modern interiors differ in seating geometry, water volume and the space available for equipment.

Three shells with different water loads—not just three labels

Nordic Family Electric is the catalogue model where shape materially changes the numbers. The straight-wall 1,800 mm Classic is deeper and carries up to about 1,750 litres; the conical 1,800 mm shell reduces that to around 1,400–1,500 litres; the 2,000 mm conical version provides broader seating for a stated 8–12 bathers while remaining around 1,550 litres. Those figures explain why diameter alone is a poor basis for heater and running-cost decisions.

1,800 Classic straight wall 6–8 bathers; approximately 1,650–1,750 L; 2,080 mm outside; 1,100/1,200 mm inner/outer height
1,800 modern conical 6–8 bathers; approximately 1,400–1,500 L; 2,000 mm outside
2,000 modern conical 8–12 bathers; approximately 1,550 L; 2,042 mm inside and 2,240 mm outside
Dry weight Approximately 150 kg for the documented shells before separate equipment
Electric heater 6 kW; thermostat 0–45°C; stated 230 V 32 A single-phase or 400 V 16 A three-phase
Heat-pump option 5 kW with Wi-Fi
Powered spa options Air massage, hydromassage, filtration and LED lighting

Select the shell first, then design the heating routine

Choose the straight-wall Classic when upright depth and traditional geometry matter; choose the conical 1,800 when lower water volume and a less bulky exterior are more useful; reserve the 2,000 conical shell for households that genuinely need its seating width. A 6 kW element gives simple thermostat control but warms a large cold fill gradually. The heat pump is attractive for maintaining temperature efficiently in suitable ambient conditions, but requires airflow and condensate planning. Wood/electric hybrids add rapid fire-led heating and backup control, at the cost of chimney space and a more complex installation.

Decision Choices currently selectable
Model (see technical sheets) ø1800 mm classic with vertical walls · ø1800 mm modern with conical walls · ø2000 modern with conical walls

Covers, cladding and spa systems should support frequent use

An insulated leather cover is the strongest functional upgrade for a routinely heated tub; fibreglass is durable and tidy, while timber gives the most natural appearance but is heavier. WPC cladding reduces the exterior timber-care burden but changes the material character. Filtration is important where water remains in the tub; air massage is gentler, hydromassage more forceful, and both add electrical and winterisation work. Smart scheduling is useful only after the electrician, controls and garden Wi-Fi have been checked together.

What the current configurator identifies as included

Already included: (1) Wooden paddle; (2) Wooden box for the electric heater

Included equipment is valuable because it establishes a usable baseline. Displayed builds may contain additional systems, so the accepted quotation should repeat every included item.

Wood type

  • Siberian spruce
  • Siberian larch
  • Thermo wood
  • Black WPC cladding
  • Brown WPC cladding

Advantages: Spruce offers a light traditional finish; larch is denser and visually pronounced; Thermowood is darker and heat-treated; WPC gives a more uniform low-finish exterior where listed.

Type of lid

  • Fiberglass lid
  • With wooden round edge instead of fiberglass + Wooden lid instead of fiberglass
  • Insulated leather lid (recommended)

Advantages: A fitted cover reduces debris and heat loss; an insulated leather cover is normally lighter to handle and more thermally effective than a plain timber lid.

Type of stairs

  • "A" type stairs
  • "C" type stairs

Advantages: The correct stair creates a safer, more natural step over the hot-tub rim; broader A, A+ or C forms can provide a more generous landing beside a taller shell.

Insulation

  • Wall insulation
  • Bottom insulation

Advantages: Wall and bottom insulation reduce heat loss from the water vessel and are particularly useful for frequent use, exposed sites and electric temperature holding.

SPA

  • Air bubble massage system
  • Hydro massage system
  • Sand filtration system with big wooden cover box
  • 2 LED
  • 4 LED (Recommended for 180 – 220 cm models)

Advantages: Air massage gives a gentle whole-tub effect, hydromassage provides firmer targeted jets, filtration supports retained-water use and LEDs improve evening visibility and atmosphere.

Smart SPA equipment add-ons (WiFi signal required)

  • Smart app – voice controlled system kit for air massage
  • Smart app – voice controlled system kit for water massage system
  • Smart app – voice controlled system kit for sand filter
  • Smart app – voice controlled system kit for electric heater (enables scheduled control, ON/OFF)

Advantages: App control can schedule electric support and make filtration, air massage or hydromassage easier to prepare before a planned soak, with separate control applied only to the systems selected.

Inside color

  • White (RAL 9001)
  • Blue (RAL 5012)
  • Gray (RAL 7015)
  • Blue Pearl (RAL 7700)
  • Gray Pearl (RAL 7730)
  • Granite (RAL 9001)

Advantages: Liner colour lets the visible bathing shell coordinate with the garden and can make the water appear lighter, deeper or more neutral without changing the tub geometry.

Water release type

  • Bottom water drain with a stopper (included)
  • External water tap
  • External water tap + Quick adapter for garden hose set (12.5mm & 15mm)

Advantages: An external tap gives better control over discharge, while the quick hose adaptor helps route water away from foundations, neighbours and soft landscaping.

Electric warm-up must be calculated from water volume

A 6 kW element cannot honestly be given one heating time across 1,400–1,750 litres and changing weather. In ideal terms, every 1°C rise in 1,500 litres needs about 1.74 kWh before losses, so a 6 kW heater supplies roughly 3.4°C per hour at perfect efficiency and less outdoors. A heat pump behaves differently and its output varies with conditions. Plan electric systems for steady, scheduled heating and heat retention rather than expecting the same rapid cold-fill response as a powerful wood stove.

Treat electrical design as part of the product specification

Ask a qualified electrician to work from the final heater and control documents, not from a preliminary product-page selection. Cable size, protective devices, isolation and earthing depend on the chosen equipment and the route from the property. A heat pump also needs airflow, condensate management and service clearance. Beyond power, provide a level base for the filled weight, a practical drainage route and access to pumps, filters and controls. Owners planning frequent winter use should agree the circulation and frost-protection routine before the first cold spell.

Before production: TimberIN products are individually made, so published measurements are approximate. Confirm the selected live variation, final dimensions, included equipment, service requirements, delivery method and any critical tolerances in the accepted written quotation. Photographs may show optional equipment.

Dear Albert, It has been now a good few months that we have had the use of our sauna and hot tub. The sauna works perfectly and we are very happy - I believe we have sent you pictures in the past? I attach another picture for you of how both the sauna and hot tub are now happily sitting in our garden.

Hello Albert,

The Hot tub is now installed and working. We are very happy with it so far. You are welcome to use these pictures though I see you now have many pictures on your web site. There is some construction work to tidy things up and when done, I can let you have some more pictures with people using it and a tidier surround, if you would like this.

Many thanks

Charles
