TimberIN Nordic Oval™ Terrace

From: £7,590

TimberIN Nordic Oval™ Terrace. Nordic Oval Terrace is an elongated outdoor sauna available in 3000, 4000 and 5000 mm lengths with spruce or Thermowood exterior choices. Its oval cross-section provides more upright wall area and planning flexibility than a compact circular barrel, making it suitable for longer benches and layouts that include an entrance or changing zone. Select length from actual occupancy and internal functions; every increase changes room volume, heater requirement, foundation, delivery access and the building’s presence in the garden. Nordic Oval Terrace is documented at 3,000/4,000/5,000 mm for 4–6/6–8/8–10 people, approximately 1,500/2,000/2,500 kg, 2,340 mm wide and 2,425 mm high (3,100 mm with chimney), with a 450 mm porch. Spruce or Thermowood, M3/M3 SL/20 Pro/20 SL wood heat or 9/11 kW electric heat, insulation, dressing room, lighting, water tank, guard and roof colour are live; delivery is factory assembled.

Product Description

An oval room with terrace-like entrance proportions · Made-to-order outdoor sauna

TimberIN Nordic Oval™ Terrace: three, four or five metres of adaptable sauna space

The oval form balances curved character with useful interior height

Flattened sides and a rounded roof give this model a distinctive profile while creating more usable shoulder and bench space than a fully circular shell of comparable width. A 3000 mm build can focus on the hot room, while four- and five-metre versions create greater freedom for bench length or transitional space, subject to the selected plan. Spruce gives the exterior a traditional light tone; Thermowood offers a darker heat-treated finish. Both materials remain exposed garden surfaces whose longevity depends on drainage, ventilation and care compatible with the supplied treatment.

The oval family is broader and heavier than a standard barrel

Nordic Oval Terrace uses a 2,340 mm-wide, 2,425 mm-high oval body with a built-in 450 mm entrance terrace. At 3 metres it is already a 4–6-person, roughly 1,500 kg structure; the 4-metre model rises to 6–8 people and 2,000 kg; the 5-metre to 8–10 and 2,500 kg. That width creates generous bench geometry but makes access and crane planning more demanding than a 2.2-metre barrel.

3,000 mm model 4–6 people; approximately 1,500 kg; about 3,080 mm outside length
4,000 mm model 6–8 people; approximately 2,000 kg; about 4,080 mm outside length
5,000 mm model 8–10 people; approximately 2,500 kg; about 5,080 mm outside length
Width and body height Approximately 2,340 mm wide; 2,425 mm high
Height with chimney Approximately 3,100 mm
Included terrace depth Approximately 450 mm
Small-room heat M3/M3 SL or 9 kW Cilindro
Large-room heat 20 Pro/20 SL or 11–13 kW electric family recommendation, subject to final room volume

Choose length after accounting for the 450 mm terrace and any dressing room

The 3-metre model is the disciplined family sauna, already seating four to six. The 4-metre model provides a genuine group room or space for a partition. The 5-metre version belongs with hospitality or large regular groups. A 1.5-metre dressing room is included within overall length and significantly reduces the heated room. M3/M3 SL are suited to smaller room volumes; 20-series heaters serve larger rooms. Electric 9/11 kW choices bring clean control and larger supply requirements. Spruce and Thermowood affect finish, not capacity.

The dressing room and insulation are more consequential than roof colour

Complete insulation reduces winter losses and is the sensible route for frequent use, but adds layered construction and is best coordinated in the factory. A dressing room creates a dry transition and storage while taking 1.5 metres from the hot room. Glass versus timber inter-room doors trade borrowed light against heat and privacy. A water tank is useful with wood heat; LEDs and entrance lamps need heat-rated wiring. Factory-built delivery preserves the oval shell but requires heavy lifting and a measured route.

What the current configurator identifies as included

Already included: (1) Small window; (2) Entrance door with a small window; (3) Ventilation; (4) Canopy – terrace with side benches

Included equipment is valuable because it establishes a usable baseline. Displayed builds may contain additional systems, so the accepted quotation should repeat every included item.

Wood burning Harvia heaters

  • Recommended for 2 – 4 meter sauna room: Harvia M3 + chimney (already included)
  • Recommended for 2 – 4 meter sauna room: Harvia M3 SL + chimney (logs loaded from outside instead of inside)
  • Recommended for 4 – 5 meter sauna room: Harvia 20 PRO + chimney
  • Recommended for 4 – 5 meter sauna room: Harvia 20 SL + chimney (logs loaded from outside instead of inside)
  • Need different wood burning stove? Contact us!

Advantages: Harvia wood-burning heaters provide the traditional fire-and-stone sauna experience. M3 suits the smaller listed rooms, while 20 PRO serves the larger range; SL versions move log loading outside, keeping bark and ash out of the hot room.

Electric Harvia heaters

  • Recommended for 2 – 3 meter sauna room: Cilindro 9 kW (PC90) with an integrated control unit (already included)
  • Recommended for 4 meter sauna room: Cilindro 11 kW (PC110XE) including a separate control unit
  • Need different electric stove? Contact us!

Advantages: A Cilindro electric heater offers repeatable thermostat control, no indoor fuel storage and a straightforward start-up routine. The listed 9 or 11 kW choices allow output to follow the actual heated sauna-room volume.

Thermal insulation

  • For sauna 2 – 3 m. of length: complete insulation + decorative wood panelling (due to technical reasons, recommended for factory assembled saunas)
  • For sauna 4 – 5 m. of length: complete insulation + decorative wood panelling (due to technical reasons, recommended for factory assembled saunas)
  • Without insulation

Advantages: Insulating the sauna envelope reduces heat loss, improves winter recovery and makes temperature more stable between the heater and benches; decorative internal panelling also protects the insulated build-up.

Configuration

  • Dressing room 1.5 m (included in total sauna`s length)
  • Glass door between sauna and dressing rooms
  • Wooden door between sauna and dressing rooms

Advantages: A dressing room creates a dry transition area, a canopy provides shelter outside, and side-entry or U-bench layouts can make the sauna work with a particular view and garden approach.

Accessories

  • Stainless steel water tank for wood burning heaters (steam effect)
  • Electric installation. Few LED lights under the benches (sauna area)
  • 2 Harvia lamps above the entrance door (both sides)
  • Wooden fence in front of heater

Advantages: Heat-rated LED or Harvia lighting improves safe use after dark, a correctly matched water tank can provide warm water with a wood heater, and a timber heater fence creates a clear physical boundary around hot surfaces.

Roof colour

  • Black tiles
  • Brown tiles
  • Green tiles

Advantages: Roof colour lets the sauna sit deliberately within the garden scheme without changing the room plan or bathing experience.

A 3-metre hot room and a 5-metre divided building are different calculations

The sheet does not provide one warm-up time because room division, heater, insulation and outdoor temperature vary. Size the heater to the actual heated cubic metres after subtracting the porch and dressing room, then add the effect of glass. A 20-series stove should not be used merely to force a small room faster, and a 9 kW electric heater should not be assumed adequate for every long layout. Commission with design ventilation open and record a realistic winter routine.

Choose length by allocating the rooms on paper

Draw the hot room, desired bench positions, door movement and any changing or covered threshold before selecting 3000, 4000 or 5000 mm. Confirm that the heater is sized to the actual heated volume rather than the total external length where rooms are divided. Prepare a level base for the chosen footprint and maintain water run-off around the shell. Longer versions place greater demands on delivery and lifting access, so check gates, turns and overhead restrictions. Finalise glazing orientation, ventilation, electrical or chimney route and exterior maintenance space together.

Before production: TimberIN products are individually made, so published measurements are approximate. Confirm the selected live variation, final dimensions, included equipment, service requirements, delivery method and any critical tolerances in the accepted written quotation. Photographs may show optional equipment.
