Product Description
The classic barrel sauna adapted for the road · Trailer-based outdoor sauna
TimberIN Nordic Nomad™ Mobile Barrel Sauna: mobile rental and hospitality space from two to five metres
A recognisable sauna experience made operationally mobile
The barrel form creates an efficient curved hot room and a strong visual identity at an event or accommodation site. On a trailer, that shell must also tolerate transport and remain balanced within the completed vehicle specification. The shortest layouts prioritise manoeuvrability and rapid heating; longer rooms can accommodate more guests or functional separation, though they place greater demands on towing and positioning. Spruce creates a lighter traditional finish, while Thermowood gives a darker exterior; either choice needs inspection and care after exposure to road spray and repeated outdoor setups.
The familiar barrel room placed on a transport chassis
Nomad uses the standard barrel family’s efficient round shell and length progression, then turns it into a relocatable unit. The fixed barrel sheet gives planning context from approximately 800 kg at 2 metres to 1,700 kg at 5 metres, with a 2,200 mm diameter. A mobile build adds trailer, drawbar, steps, secured chimney components and road equipment. The family figures are not a licence to tow; completed plated mass and axle loads remain specific to the chosen order.

Nomad length must fit both the guest plan and the weight certificate
The 2–3 metre Nomad is the agile private or small-hire choice. Longer bodies offer more bench length or a changing space, but every partition or canopy comes from the total stated length. A double axle is the sensible route as mass grows; a single axle belongs only where the completed build is demonstrably within limits. Inside-loaded wood heaters preserve simplicity; SL keeps fuel outside. Electric heat avoids a travel chimney routine but requires suitable power at every operating location.

A Nomad operator should publish measured, conservative warm-up
Room length, partitions, glazing, insulation, heater and cold-soaked outdoor storage all affect warm-up. The standard sheet recommends heater families but not one time. Commission the exact vehicle at realistic winter temperatures, record time to stable bench-level heat and include safe chimney assembly in setup. A shorter insulated room generally produces the most dependable turnaround; an oversized heater is not a substitute for correct volume matching.
Write the operating routine before taking the first booking
Use the final documents to confirm tow vehicle, licence, insurance, coupling, axle loads, registration and permitted dimensions. Survey intended routes for width, height, gradients and turning room. At each pitch, stabilise the trailer on firm level ground, create safe steps and guest circulation, and deploy the chimney or electrical connection exactly as specified. Ventilation, heater clearances and firebox control remain essential in a mobile setting. Record cleaning, inspection, cool-down and departure checks so repeated movement does not gradually undermine safety.
Before production: TimberIN products are individually made, so published measurements are approximate.
