The raised pod roof creates a recognisable mobile silhouette and useful interior headroom, while the trailer becomes part of the engineered product. Length affects more than occupancy: every additional section changes structural mass, balance, heater requirement and the space needed to turn or position the unit. Spruce and Thermowood give different visual identities for private or commercial branding. A wood-fired heater introduces chimney handling and fuel; an electric package changes the supply expected at each destination. Both need a repeatable safe setup rather than improvised event-day decisions.
A pod sauna that must satisfy both room design and trailer limits
Nordic Mobile Sauna Pod follows the 2–5 metre Igloo/Pod family but adds chassis, balance and repeatable setup. The fixed-family sheet places corresponding bodies from roughly 800 kg at 2 metres to 1,700 kg at 5 metres before a completed mobile specification is certified. That explains the live warning against a single axle on the 5-metre model. Trailer rating, completed mass and tow legality must be resolved after heater, glazing and room layout are frozen.

Start with payload and hot-room length, not the panoramic window
The 2–3 metre models suit private hire and smaller groups with lower mass. The 4–5 metre bodies add capacity or a dressing room but push the trailer specification harder. Any dressing room or canopy is taken from total length. Double axle is the prudent direction for heavier or longer builds; single axle can be easier to manoeuvre only when the verified completed mass remains within rating. M3/M3 SL serve smaller rooms, 20-series larger rooms; 9/11 kW electric heat needs the corresponding shore-power plan at every venue.

Commercial scheduling should use measured winter data
The fixed-family sheet sizes heaters by room length, not by a promised warm-up. Mobile operation adds cold-soaked timber, wind exposure and different electrical supplies. After commissioning, record time to stable bench-level temperature for the actual insulated/glazed room at several outdoor temperatures. Use the slow winter result in bookings. Never compromise ventilation or use an oversized stove to recover a schedule that was unrealistic for the chosen room.
Plan the journey, the pitch and the session as one operation
Confirm tow vehicle, licence, insurance, coupling, axle limits, registration and permitted dimensions from the final trailer documentation and applicable local rules. Check access width, turning room, gradients and firm level parking at every intended site. Establish a procedure for stabilising the trailer, deploying or stowing the chimney, controlling guest access and verifying ventilation before heating. Commercial operators should document cleaning, heater checks and cool-down. Choose room length only after balancing guest capacity against mobility, mass and the realities of the routes it will travel.
