Product Description
A custom pod from two to five metres · Made-to-order outdoor sauna
TimberIN Nordic Pod™ Custom: room scale and exterior timber chosen independently
Material choice changes the pod as much as its length
Spruce provides a pale traditional appearance, while Thermowood offers the deeper colour of heat-treated timber. The suitable finish and care routine should be confirmed for the actual supplied exterior rather than assumed from photographs. At 2000 mm, the pod prioritises a compact heated room; longer versions can support more bench length or additional functions. The raised roof line preserves the recognisable pod character throughout the range while giving bathers more shoulder and head space than a tightly curved barrel.
The Igloo/Pod length progression in useful figures
Nordic Pod Custom is the most flexible expression of the Igloo technical family. Its curved roof gives standing volume without the circular sidewalls of a barrel, and the documented sizes rise consistently: 2 metres for 2–4 people at about 800 kg, 3 metres for 4–6 at 1,100 kg, 4 metres for 6–8 at 1,400 kg and 5 metres for 8–10 at 1,700 kg. Custom rooms and glazing must be deducted from or added to those base plans explicitly.
| 2,000 mm model | 2–4 people; approximately 800 kg; about 1,800 mm internal length |
|---|---|
| 3,000 mm model | 4–6 people; approximately 1,100 kg; about 2,800 mm internal length |
| 4,000 mm model | 6–8 people; approximately 1,400 kg; about 3,800 mm internal length |
| 5,000 mm model | 8–10 people; approximately 1,700 kg; about 4,800 mm internal length |
| Width and height | Approximately 2,350 mm wide; 2,500 mm high without chimney |
| Bench width reference | Approximately 500 mm |
| Wood choices | Spruce or Thermowood |
| Heater progression | M3/M3 SL or 9 kW for smaller rooms; 20 Pro/20 SL or 11 kW-class electric for larger rooms as volume requires |
Customise the floor plan without losing the sauna room you intended to buy
At 2–3 metres, keep the plan simple unless a tiny hot room is acceptable. At 4–5 metres, a 1–1.5 metre dressing room or 1 metre canopy can be accommodated while retaining useful benches. Side entrance with U-shaped seating can suit a social or constrained site, but changes heater position and circulation. Thermowood provides a darker heat-treated finish, while spruce is the straightforward Nordic baseline. Heater selection must follow the final hot-room volume after every custom subtraction.
| Decision | Choices currently selectable |

| Length | 2000 mm · 3000 mm · 4000 mm · 5000 mm |
| Woodtype | Spruce · Thermo Wood |
Customisation changes the warm-up equation every time
There is no meaningful “Pod heating time” across 2–5 metres and multiple room plans. The heater must be matched to the actual cubic metres, with allowances for glass and insulation. A dressing room is not heated to sauna temperature and should not inflate heater size. Commission the completed room with its intended ventilation, stone charge and door routine. If fast private use matters, favour a smaller insulated hot room; hospitality capacity calls for a longer schedule and larger correctly matched heater.
Build the room plan before choosing the most impressive length
List normal occupancy, preferred sitting or reclining positions and any changing or covered entrance requirement. Compare those needs with the internal drawings for each length, then size the heater for the actual hot-room volume and glazing. Longer shells demand more base, a wider delivery strategy and greater exterior maintenance access. Position doors and windows for privacy and useful views, direct rainwater away from the lower timber and coordinate ventilation, electrical or flue routes and safety clearances before the specification is approved.
Before production: TimberIN products are individually made, so published measurements are approximate. Confirm the selected live variation, final dimensions, included equipment, service requirements, delivery method and any critical tolerances in the accepted written quotation. Photographs may show optional equipment.

Hello Evelina and nice folks at TimberIN
Because we were doing quite a few things to our house, we could only get electrics in and the sauna completed and commissioned today, after many months.
We’re thrilled with it, proud of it and it makes the property here terribly special.
It sits in a small wooded area just by the house, overlooking our Lough Derg below here in the West of Ireland which you can see if you blow it up…with guest horses peeking in the window…. and if you do blow up the photograph of the window looking out, you’ll see our stone circle and far below on the first island a 10th C round tower and ancient monastery–to become a UNESCO world heritage site soon.
We couldn’t be more pleased and thought you’d enjoy–finally–seeing the sauna constructed with a couple of little additions.
Many thanks
Dear Albert,
It has been now a good few months that we have had the use of our sauna and hot tub. The sauna works perfectly and we are very happy – I believe we have sent you pictures in the past? I attach another picture for you of how both the sauna and hot tub are now happily sitting in our garden.
So glad!
Here some pics for Instagram
Hi Albert,
Sorry, it took so long, finally got round to getting photos. Had to wait 12 months before I could start building the sauna. Then it was a tricky site (particularly getting that big glass window up to the site and in on the edge of a cliff on a windy day!).
Kind Regards,
Hi
