Product Description
Sauna and hot tub in one coordinated barrel structure · Combined garden wellness room
TimberIN Nordic Barrel Duo™: two outdoor rituals organised within a fixed 5400 mm plan
A shared architectural shell, but two independently demanding spaces
The barrel section gives the sauna its familiar curved walls and compact air volume, while the adjoining bathing area creates a natural sequence between dry heat and open-air water. Bringing the functions together saves visual fragmentation and can simplify the guest journey, but it does not merge their engineering. The sauna heater needs its own ventilation and safety clearances; the hot tub needs filling, drainage, circulation and water care; each combustion appliance needs an approved chimney and service approach. Timber selection applies to the whole composition and affects colour, weathering and maintenance.
A 5.4-metre mobile building whose completed mass must be proven
Nordic Barrel Duo is defined by its long 5.4-metre body and two-zone concept rather than by a list of interchangeable lengths. The current dimensions are 5,400 × 2,450 × 2,470 mm, already close to transport-sensitive width and height. Adding the optional braked double-axle trailer creates a complete road-going assembly, but the configurator’s “up to 2,000 kg” trailer rating is not the same as the actual plated mass of the finished sauna.

The meaningful choice is material and whether mobility is genuinely required
Spruce gives a lighter, traditional barrel appearance and usually the simplest material route. Thermowood creates a darker, heat-treated exterior with different weathering and maintenance character. The trailer only makes sense where the sauna will move between sites; if it will remain in one garden, a fixed foundation removes towing, axle, registration and levelling constraints. For mobile use, the room partition, heater, chimney stowage and all loose interior items must be designed around transport, not added after the body is mounted.

Warm-up depends on the unreported heated-room volume
No responsible warm-up time can be stated from the outside length alone. A dressing or changing zone reduces the heated section; glazing, insulation, ambient temperature and the final heater then determine the result. Ask for the heated cubic metres, stone mass and approved heater model in the quotation. For commercial mobile use, record the commissioned warm-up at several outdoor temperatures and schedule conservatively rather than promising a generic number of minutes.
Coordinate the complete wellness circuit before the base is built
Set out the full 5400 × 2450 mm footprint together with steps, doors, stove access and any equipment enclosure. The foundation must support the building and the concentrated filled hot-tub load without differential movement. Confirm the route for delivery or lifting, because a combined structure cannot be treated like two small parcels. Plan clean-water supply, controlled drainage, electrical isolation, fuel storage and maintenance panels. For hospitality use, separate guest circulation from hot fireboxes and document sauna cleaning, water treatment and daily safety checks as one operating procedure.
Before production: TimberIN products are individually made, so published measurements are approximate. Confirm the selected live variation, final dimensions, included equipment, service requirements, delivery method and any critical tolerances in the accepted written quotation. Photographs may show optional equipment.
